Mozilla has released the newest beta version of its Firefox 18 browser. The new browser is driven by JavaScript engine and support Apple's Macs with Retina" displays. The final version will be released somewhere in mid of coming January.
The "IonMonkey" new JavaScript JIT (just-in-time) has given new life to Mozilla Firefox 18 browser. It is efficient than its predecessors "TraceMonkey" and "JaegerMonkey."
IonMonkey gears up new browser to support online games and Web-based applications in much efficient and faster way than previous JIT compilers. David Anderson, a Mozilla engineer has claimed that the IonMonkey compiler speeds up Firefox's by between 7% and 26%.
The new Mozilla browser also features support a browser integrated PDF viewer, "Retina" display used by Apple MacBook Pro notebooks and option for users to disable insecure content
