Apple has finally fixed the major security issue that involved Apple ID password reset page. The vulnerability allowed hackers to reset the user's password using user's email address in combination with birth date .
Apple yesterday said that it was already aware of the vulnerability and was preparing to fix it. Meanwhile, Apple had taken iForgot page down for maintenance. Now the problem has been fixed by Apple and many media outlets have confirmed the fix.
The security exploit in Apple reset page made use of the special URL to answer a security question. Apple added the security question step last April.
The exploit however didn't work on the users accounts who had enabled the two-step verification, which Apple has recently introduced.
The Verge,however reported that variousApple ID holders have to wait 3 days before they could access the two-step verification setup.
Currently there are over 500 million active Apple ID accounts that are being used for company's various stores and also for the online services, including iCloud.
